2021 Scottish Fest / Milwaukee Highland Games Canceled
Message from The Milwaukee Highland Games Committee
We are very sad to announce that Scottish Fest (The Milwaukee Highland Games) on June 5th, 2021 is canceled.
We have made the decision based on the information we have regarding Covid and safety issues for our public. We have been informed, for example, that it would be unlikely that Pipe Bands would be attending, plus other health and safety considerations.
We are heartbroken but want to assure that come hell or high water Scottish Fest June 4th 2022 will be held at Hart Park once again.
We will be together again in fellowship and fun soon.
Help Wanted: SAS Promotional Video Project
The SAS Executive Board has been pursuing the idea of creating a video that can be used by the society to promote the society and be used at our events like the Scottish Games and Irish Fest, but we need your help.

Cancelation: Burns Wreath Laying Ceremony
From the SAS Presidents:
...( after) talking with a number of members, it was been decided that we will cancel the Burns Statute ceremony scheduled for Sunday, Jan 24 and again plan for our next ceremony in January, 2022. It was felt that with the current Coronavirus environment, our inability to meet after the ceremony (a popular event) and the winter conditions of Burns Common and the Burns Statute, it was in the best interests of all to reschedule.

2020 St Andrew's Day Food / Supply Drive Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin
The St. Andrew's Society of Milwaukee will host a St. Andrew's Day Supply Drive in lieu of our annual St. Andrew’s Day Brunch and Fundraising Auction. Through Tuesday, Dec. 15th, SAS members can drop off supplies at a variety of drop off points that will help veterans living in the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin’s tiny homes. Monetary donations can also be made online.

The Scholarship Committee of Saint Andrew’s Society is currently accepting applications for the Ian Day Education Scholarship. The application period is open from October 1st until December 1st. The board will consider any course of study that revolves around Scotland, her people, her art, her history, or her culture in deciding whether to grant any scholarship. In Memorial: SAS President, Jack Schafer
John “Jack” Schafer
1946 - 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our President, John “Jack” Schafer.
Jack passed the morning of April 1st, at Columbia St. Mary Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by Kathy, John and Karina.
In recent months, Jack has been battling with kidney disease and was absent from some of our recent events.
Given the current situation with the Covid-19 Pandemic, we will be planning a memorial for Jack in the future. We are asking members and friends of Jack to email their memories and pictures of Jack for use in this event.
