As we approach 2021, it is time to find another charity to support – and we need your help and ideas!
We know many of you support other charities and local organizations and we hope you will nominate one your own for our 2021 charity. For every suggestion we receive, we will place the name of the person offering it in a raffle to win a bottle of Whisky just in time for your New Year’s Hogmanay celebration, if you make your suggestion by email by December 16th.
· We can have St. Andrew’s group participation. (Programs like Habitat for Humanity that encourage sweat equity as well as monetary support).
· Relieving the Distressed - Non-profit organizations who provide support to unique groups of people (Scouts, Vets, youth, homeless, Immigrants, seniors, people experiencing food deserts, homeless people).
· Some flexibility in working with the charity (not just donate money).
· Somehow involved with the Scottish community (Yes we are already helping the Scottish community but this could also include Scottish groups outside of the area as well as Scotland but the key is the element to help people in need).
Please identify as many charities as you can at the December member meeting, Monday December 14th or Wednesday, December 16th, and send them to info@saintandrewsmilwaukee.org or talk to one of the members of the Saint Andrew’s Society of Milwaukee Relieve the Distressed Committee (Lyle Maryniak, Bruce Davidson, Ron Coutts, Morganne McDonald, Mark Allen) so we will have a proposal ready for 2021. We look forward to hearing your ideas!
