Before we say good-bye to April (#ScottishAmericanHeritageMonth & #NationalPoetryMonth), let's celebrate our beloved Scottish bard, Robert Burns and the honor of having a brilliant Burns Monument in Milwaukee!
Thanks to John Schafer for finding these gems at the Milwaukee Historical Society - a newspaper clipping of the front page of the local "The Evening Wisconsin" newspaper announcing the formal presentation of the Burns Statue to the city and a copy of the official program for the event. How fascinating to see this glimpse back into our Scottish- Milwaukeean heritage!
